About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Giant Eagle, you will join our team to provide safe and efficient care for our patients. You will assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy, build relationships with customers, and support the pharmacy staff in achieving high service standards.
What you'll do#
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by submitting online orders and managing stock levels.
- File written prescriptions on a daily basis.
- Assist team members with various tasks to ensure the department runs efficiently.
- Welcome patients to the pharmacy and provide support with their needs, including processing orders in person or over the phone.
- Model excellent patient care by engaging with customers and directing them to the correct products.
- Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including selecting and counting medication.
- Process medical expense reports.
- Enter patient data and insurance information into our systems.
- Follow all company policies and government regulations, including HIPAA.
What you'll need#
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
- Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
- Experience ranging from 0 to 6 months.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
