About the role#
This is a 12-week paid summer internship based at our facility in Aurora, Illinois. You will join the Pure Ambition program to gain hands-on experience in engineering and manufacturing operations. You will support our teams by working on projects that align with business needs, safety standards, and budget requirements. This role provides exposure to plant operations, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
What you'll do#
- Own an engineering or manufacturing operations project and present your findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Support the full project lifecycle from initial concept and planning through implementation and completion.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate processes.
- Recommend practical solutions to improve safety, quality, cost, reliability, or efficiency.
- Assist with project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation, and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with partners in engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Work with contractors and vendors to support project execution and technical problem-solving.
- Apply engineering principles to manufacturing challenges while learning our internal standards.
- Participate in program activities, development workshops, and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently.
