About the role#
Ingredion is seeking a Logistics & Distribution Intern to support our North American logistics strategy. You will work with senior management to support operations across various transport modes including truck, rail, and international shipping. This role involves collaborating with manufacturing, distribution, customer service, and sales teams to control costs and improve service levels. You will apply academic concepts to real-world logistics challenges in a corporate setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform ad-hoc operational analysis including pricing requests, fleet analysis, and network studies.
- Plan, support, and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with the management team to codify and institutionalize standard methodologies within the logistics group.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve the logistics delivery experience for customers.
- Offer data-supported solutions to daily logistics challenges.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship term.
- Skills in building queries and managing data within Excel, Access, or PowerBI.
- Ability to listen and understand processes before recommending improvements.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
