About the role#
This internship provides John Deere Ag Tech students with hands-on experience in a dealership service department. You will work alongside experienced technicians and managers to learn how to maintain and repair agricultural and turf equipment. The program combines classroom learning with practical work in the shop.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment.
- Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs to build your technical skills.
- Shadow team members to gain experience with service department operations.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere products and competitor equipment.
- Account for all time spent on tasks and track materials used on your time card.
- Complete necessary reports and forms for your work assignments.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while in the shop.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an AAS degree program for John Deere Tech.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic testing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
- A valid driver's license.
- A forklift license is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Rugby, North Dakota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22 per hour for the first year, increasing to $24 per hour for the second year.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
