About the role#
As a Strategic Assurance and SOC Services Intern, you will join our audit professionals to help organizations build and maintain trust with their clients. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in consulting and assurance projects, including SOC 1, SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST engagements. You will work alongside experienced leadership to deliver high-quality results while developing your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with clients to plan engagement strategies, define objectives, and address business risks.
- Test and evaluate business processes and information technology controls to mitigate risk.
- Execute assigned client engagements from start to finish.
- Use various data collection techniques to obtain control evidence and document testing results.
- Perform detailed analysis to identify compliance needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in client status updates and draft client deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Ability to travel 20%-50% as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.

- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (requires in-person attendance at least three days per week at a firm office or client site).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
