About the role#
As a Value Creation Intern, you will support client engagements focused on revenue growth, EBITDA expansion, and operational improvement. You will work alongside commercial strategy professionals and specialists to analyze business performance and support recommendations for private equity investors and growth-focused companies. This role provides exposure to the full deal lifecycle, including diligence, integration, and carve-out workstreams.
What you'll do#
- Support engagement teams with research, analysis, and the preparation of client deliverables.
- Conduct market, industry, competitor, and company research to inform strategic recommendations.
- Assist with data collection, organization, and analysis regarding pricing, sales effectiveness, and operational improvement.
- Support cost baseline, spend, and headcount analyses.
- Use data visualization and AI-enabled tools to accelerate research and synthesis.
- Develop financial models, spreadsheets, charts, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Participate in team meetings, client workstreams, and shadow management interviews.
- Learn consulting methodologies and value creation frameworks through hands-on mentorship and professional development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Strategy, Marketing, or Management.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Interest in strategy consulting, private equity, financial analysis, and M&A support.
- Strong structured problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Foundational financial modeling and Excel skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and familiarity with data visualization tools.
- Comfort using AI-enabled tools for research and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with a collaborative mindset.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week.
- Compensation: $37.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time internship.
