About the role#
This is a paid internship program for the Fall 2026 term at KYTV/KSPR in Springfield, Missouri. You will work as an active team member rather than observing from the sidelines. This role provides hands-on training in a broadcast environment.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured four-week training course directed by the news director.
- Learn to shoot, edit video, and write content for both on-air and web platforms.
- Practice drafting scripts for on-air broadcasts and digital articles.
- Capture video footage and conduct interviews.
- Work some holidays as required by the broadcast schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a college junior or senior majoring in broadcast, journalism, or a related field.
- A career goal of working in broadcast television.
- A genuine interest in learning shooting, video editing, and writing for media.
