    About the role#

    Detroit PBS is seeking an intern for the One Detroit Journalism and Video Production program for Fall 2026. This role supports the production team in creating weekly episodes and digital content. You will gain practical experience in video journalism and community-based storytelling through hands-on work with our staff.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with field shoots and in-studio filming.
    • Conduct research for production logistics and content.
    • Help the Digital Content Specialist create social media and web posts.
    • Observe edit sessions to learn about producing and post-production techniques.
    • Participate in department meetings and offer content suggestions.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a university or vocational program, or recent graduation within the last six months.
    • Preferred majors include Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or Business Administration.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Media Encoder.
    • Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week.
    • Availability for a minimum of 3 days per week.

    • This position is based on-site in Wixom, Michigan.
    • This is an unpaid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
    • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
