About the role#
You will join the Special Projects AI team to build next-generation foundation models for our robotics solutions. This role focuses on moving AI capabilities from research into active production environments. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from initial data strategy and model training to deployment on real industrial robots.
What you'll do#
- Develop foundation models for high precision manufacturing using multi-modal data.
- Validate your models through testing on real industrial robots and actual production parts.
- Own your project from start to finish, including data curation, simulation, training, and deployment.
- Write maintainable, production quality code for internal research and development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics, AI, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in foundation models for robot manipulation.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
- Experience with robotics middleware and tooling such as ROS or ROS2.
- A publication track record in venues such as ICRA, CoRL, RSS, IROS, RA-L, or T-RO.
- Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or simulation environments like Isaac Lab or MuJoCo is preferred.
