About the role#
Hatch is seeking an Environment, People, and Place Student for a full-time internship during the Winter 2027 term. Based in our Vancouver office, you will report to the Regional Director and work alongside planners, designers, engineers, and economists. This role offers the chance to contribute to projects from initial ideation through to final delivery.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to project phases ranging from scope development to completion.
- Apply knowledge in environmental field surveys, impact assessments, community engagement, ecosystem protection, and urban design.
- Prepare technical reports, documents, and visualizations.
- Perform and circulate news scans to keep the team informed on relevant events.
- Present work to team members and clients.
- Assist leadership, managers, and colleagues with daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related program at an accredited university.
- Strong academic standing.
- Interest in a career within the environmental, sustainability, engagement, or urban design sectors.
- Ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in mathematics and data analysis.
- Quick learning ability.
- Experience in a consultancy environment or extracurricular involvement is an asset.
- Skills in performing geospatial analyses using GIS software are considered an asset.
