About the role#
Hazen and Sawyer is looking for summer interns for water-related projects in our Columbus office. You will work on drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and conveyance projects. This role involves joining design teams for tasks ranging from initial studies to the construction of pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
What you'll do#
- Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and client meetings.
- Prepare engineering deliverables like sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, hydraulics, and design reports.
- Manage data for process modeling and design tasks.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to select equipment.
- Support multiple projects from the planning phase through construction.
- Work with experienced engineers for mentorship and professional development.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in environmental, civil, chemical, or agricultural engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within group settings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-motivated approach to your work.
