About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern, you will work with the Supply Chain and Engineering & Manufacturing teams. You will collaborate with engineers and operators to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability across production processes. This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment where you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for productivity gains and waste reduction.
- Apply problem-solving methods and data analysis to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Evaluate production cleaning cycles, equipment changeovers, and other manufacturing workflows.
- Develop recommendations to reduce downtime, improve throughput, and minimize scrap.
- Explore opportunities to automate repetitive manual tasks.
- Test and implement technology-enabled solutions to improve process consistency.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student who will remain academically active through the internship.
- Academic background in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive approach and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Interest in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma.
- Leadership potential demonstrated through academics, work, or community involvement.
- Nice to have: Experience with Minitab, Power BI, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Location: Ada Township, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-person Monday through Thursday, remote optional on Friday).
- Status: Full-time, paid.
