About the role#
As a Building Structural Engineering Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of an engineer or project manager. You will apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while gaining experience on projects including buildings, existing structures, water-bearing structures, foundations, and light industrial facilities. This position offers opportunities to connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
What you'll do#
- Perform load calculations, analysis, and design tasks.
- Develop spreadsheets and produce drawings.
- Review fabrication and shop drawings.
- Conduct site observations.
- Participate in company programs to build professional connections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, preferably in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
- Preference is given to candidates with 2 years completed toward their degree, a 3.0+ GPA, and local status.
- Preferred knowledge of software including Microsoft Excel, Revit, RISA, RAM, and STAAD.
- Coursework completed in structural steel or concrete design.
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop within the field of structural engineering.

- Location: Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
