About the role#
HDR is seeking a Utility Transportation Intern to join the Transportation Business Group for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience within an employee-owned firm while contributing to transportation projects.
What you'll do#
You will work under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager to support ongoing assignments. Your daily tasks include:
- Applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to project work.
- Gaining hands-on experience with MicroStation and analytical tools.
- Meeting with utility company representatives, engineering consulting teams, and clients to help form project solutions.
- Participating in real-world project work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, with a preference for Civil Engineering students.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
