About the role#
The Aggregate Project Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of our mining business. You will work alongside the Project Management team to support ongoing capital projects and learn the administrative side of our operations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to solve common issues and improve project outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Management team with monthly projections, schedules, and key milestones.
- Prepare reports for Senior Leadership and perform work quality reviews.
- Shadow operations personnel to understand planning and aggregate objectives.
- Help identify improvement opportunities for document control, including cost management and construction drawings.
- Explore ways to deploy technology that improves efficiency and reduces carbon emissions.
- Learn about aggregate sales by studying materials available in our quarries and pits.
- Work on special projects across multiple departments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or two to four years of related experience.
- Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and technical instructions.
- Strong communication skills for writing reports and speaking with employees or customers.
- Mathematical skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights or weekends when necessary.
