About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Overland Park, Kansas. You will gain hands-on experience in the wholesale building materials industry, working across construction sites, quarries, mines, and production facilities. This role is on-site and requires a willingness to travel and maintain a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Gain on-site experience at various production and construction facilities.
- Analyze data, develop process strategies, and contribute to capital projects.
- Take ownership of tasks that impact the business.
- Collaborate with teams to reach shared goals.
- Create and present a capstone project to executive leadership.
- Learn regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Develop skills in scheduling, project profitability, accounts receivable, and billing.
- Support the company safety culture in your daily work.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited trade school, college, or university in good academic standing.
- Majors in Accounting, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strict adherence to all safety protocols.
