    About the role#

    As a Construction Management Intern, you will work within a vertically integrated company to gain experience across multiple business lines. You will spend your time focusing on heavy construction activities, asphalt plant operations, and business management. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage public and private construction projects, including bidding, contracting, and working with estimators.
    • Collaborate with project managers, construction crew foremen, and plant operators.
    • Assist with asphalt plant operations, including running scales and general maintenance.
    • Work directly on construction and prep crews to learn equipment usage and job site setup.
    • Support the operations manager with monthly projections, job costs, and financial statements.
    • Learn about aggregate materials, logistics, and operations at quarry locations.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while working with co-workers and the public.
    • Adhere to all safety requirements and company policies.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program in Construction Management or Operations Management, or two to four years of related experience.
    • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Strong communication skills to speak effectively with customers and employees.
    • Mathematical skills to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights or weekends when necessary.

    • Work Modality: On-site
    • Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, balancing, and lifting over 25 pounds.
    • The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and loud noise levels.
