About the role#
The Aggregate Intern role provides exposure to the mining business and other company lines. You will work with a vertically integrated team to gain hands-on experience in business administration and project management. This position involves interacting with various departments and senior leadership on capital projects and operational objectives.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve common issues.
- Assist the Project Management team with monthly projections, schedules, and quality control.
- Support document control improvements for cost management and construction drawings.
- Research ways to use new technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- Shadow operations personnel to learn about mining objectives and material sales.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership.
- Help with administrative tasks and learn the value of timely communication.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or two to four years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various types of instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and customers.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time with a rolling term. You must be willing to work nights, weekends, and travel when required. You will work in various environments, including outdoor sites near mechanical equipment.
