About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineer Intern for the Community Design group in our Detroit office. This is a full-time, paid summer internship for 2027. You will work on-site and collaborate with various departments to support our engineering projects.
What you'll do#
You will support project managers and engineering staff across the Planning, Structural Design, and Hydraulic and Hydrology departments. Your daily tasks include:
- Performing routine calculations under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Analyzing continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Obtaining project drawings from local municipalities.
- Assisting with the development of spreadsheet tools.
- Scanning and copying project documentation.
- Communicating with staff and clients to maintain strong professional relationships.
- Ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil or Environmental Engineering (freshman or sophomore status is preferred).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach to work.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is a plus.
