    About the role#

    Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mining Engineer Intern to work at our aggregate sites. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Lexington, South Carolina. You will gain hands-on experience in quarry, plant, and production processes while working on-site.

    What you'll do#

    • Visit multiple aggregate operations to learn about production processes.
    • Support projects focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
    • Collect and analyze operational data to find ways to improve our processes.
    • Work with maintenance, quality control, and leadership teams on site-based initiatives.
    • Participate in field inspections and continuous improvement activities throughout the region.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Engineering or related technical degree program.
    • Interest in mining, manufacturing, construction materials, or industrial operations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
    • Willingness to travel to multiple aggregate sites.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including navigating rugged terrain and heavy equipment areas.
