About the role#
This internship at The Hotel Hershey offers hands-on experience in a professional kitchen. You will learn a la carte service, bulk production for banquets, and morning baker operations. Interns who show interest may also observe the creation of wedding cakes, confections, and showpieces. Your specific rotation through these departments depends on your abilities and goals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare pastry products and station setups in assigned areas.
- Follow The Hotel Hershey standards for all food preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Follow the guidance of the Sous Chef and Pastry Cook I.
- Control waste and follow all company rules and regulations.
- Assist other kitchen areas when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Current enrollment in a Baking or Pastry Arts program, or graduation from one within the last 6 months.
- You must provide your own knives.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills to work closely with the culinary team.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including extreme heat.

- Term: Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, union position. Schedules are based on union seniority and require flexibility, including weekends and holidays. You will need to provide your own slip-resistant, non-skid shoes. Housing may be available for a weekly fee of $160.
