    About the role#

    Horizon Health Services is seeking a Peer Advocate intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This is a paid, full-time opportunity based in Buffalo, New York. You will work within outpatient clinics, residential facilities, or inpatient and detox settings while receiving mentorship from peer and program directors.

    What you'll do#

    • Support peers in providing direct patient services throughout treatment.
    • Collaborate during case conferences to assist in patient care.
    • Help with the coordination of care for individuals.
    • Draft progress notes and perform administrative tasks, including filing.
    • Assist with status updates, court reports, and Department of Social Services report submissions.
    • Observe the process for transfer requests and psychiatric referrals.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a CRPA peer certification or an MH peer certification.
    • Constant and continuous access to a personal email account for application and communication purposes.
    • Academic background in Psychology, Public Health, Nursing, or Sociology.

    Location & details#

    • This role is on-site in Buffalo, New York, at locations on Bailey Avenue, Hertel Avenue, or Broadway.
    • Placements are available Monday through Friday. You will provide your full availability during the application process to help determine a schedule.
    • Start dates will be confirmed during the interview process, pending the completion of onboarding requirements.
