About the role#
This position offers respiratory therapy students hands-on clinical experience. You will work in a hospital setting while currently enrolled in your academic program. This role serves as a pathway for students to transition into official Registered Respiratory Therapy positions at Indiana University Health.
What you'll do#
- Start and discontinue patient therapies.
- Learn to maintain accurate patient records.
- Master the use of respiratory therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a CoARC and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
- Active Respiratory Student Permit from the state of Indiana.
- Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage confidential patient information.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with EMR systems.
- Fundamental knowledge of infection control procedures.
