About the role#
As a Customer Innovation Intern, you will join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will provide technical support to customers in the US and Canada by working on new product development and creating solutions. You will use our Idea Labs capabilities to take lab-scale concepts and scale them up in the food pilot plant to produce prototypes. This is a full-time position that requires 40 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage projects to meet specific timelines and deliverables.
- Analyze data, research results, and scientific literature to advance your work.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following GMPs, SafeServ, and internal safety guidelines.
- Work with the Customer Innovation team and subject matter experts to identify formulation challenges and develop solutions.
- Present prototypes, project status updates, and outcomes to team members and stakeholders.
- Compose technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of common food processes, ingredient functionality, and ingredient interactions.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical analysis, and the interpretation of results.
- Strong planning, organizational, and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility each workday.
- Hands-on experience with food concept development using laboratory or pilot plant equipment is a plus.
