About the role#
Ingredion is hiring an Applications & Development Intern to join the R&D team for the summer of 2027. This role focuses on supporting new product development and creating solutions for customers. You will work on a pilot plant and lab bench top scale to prepare food formulations and prototypes. This is a full-time, on-site position based in White Marsh, Maryland.
What you'll do#
- Develop and prepare food formulations and prototypes for business and customer initiatives.
- Operate laboratory equipment safely to support project needs.
- Perform analytical testing and document technical reports.
- Manage work projects to meet specific timelines and deliverables.
- Present prototypes, project status, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Analyze data and research results to make recommendations to the project team.
What you'll need#
- Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship term.
- Experience with hands-on food concept development using laboratory or pilot plant equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
