About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will assist Project Managers in coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations needed to construct projects on time and within budget. This role provides experience in estimating, buyouts, submittals, and change management. You will work primarily in an office setting, though you may spend time at the jobsite as project needs require.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate permitting and city government coordination for all project aspects.
- Coordinate and distribute submittals and shop drawings through project completion.
- Support field management with scheduling projects and subcontractors.
- Track RFI and submittal documents.
- Schedule, attend, and record minutes at project meetings.
- Assist in developing punch lists and follow-up work to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with project take-offs, bidding, and estimating from start to finish.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection reports.
- Monitor and gather project information.
- Perform quantity take-offs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Construction program.
- Basic knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods.
- Understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform math calculations including algebra and geometry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present information clearly in verbal and written form.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively handle reports and business correspondence.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and a desire to learn.
- Access to reliable transportation.
