About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will work on-site at our pharmacy to support daily operations and provide quality care to our customers. This role involves direct interaction with patients, collaboration with the pharmacy team, and assisting with medication management. You will gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting while adhering to safety and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication and bag filled prescriptions for delivery.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and manage third-party insurance processing.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and manage inventory by stocking incoming orders and returning unused medications.
- Assist with customer service duties, including answering questions and facilitating purchases.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
