About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team by providing direct care to customers and assisting with daily operations. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Texas City, Texas. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure accurate medication dispensing and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Process third-party insurance claims and coordinate with prescribers to obtain necessary authorizations.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
- Support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding quality assurance standards.
- Assist diverse groups of patients, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment while maintaining honesty and integrity.
- Capability to handle conflict in a nonconfrontational manner and follow directions to resolve business issues.
