About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern to join our team in Little Rock, Arkansas. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role with a rolling term. You will support the pharmacy department by providing direct patient care, managing prescription workflows, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers.
What you'll do#
- Promote trust and respect among all associates.
- Help customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
- Provide drug counseling and recommend over-the-counter medications.
- Input patient and prescription data into the computer system accurately.
- Dispense medication, process third-party insurance claims, and contact prescribers for authorization.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking, stocking, and returning unused medication bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Capacity to manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
