About the role#
Labcorp is seeking a Lab Intern to join our team in San Diego for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, 11-week paid internship running from June 1st through August 13th, 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
What you'll do#
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
- Assist with non-testing tasks such as specimen organization, inventory management, and workspace preparation.
- Participate in mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
- Support approved laboratory projects.
- Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- An interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow laboratory procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new scientific concepts and laboratory skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative and professional conduct, including punctuality.
