About the role#
The Micron Mask Technology Center is a photomask fabrication facility in Boise, Idaho. As a Photomask Sustaining Engineering Intern, you will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate technical issues and improve production performance. You will gain hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, data analytics, and root cause analysis while contributing to projects that impact quality and cycle time.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing and engineering data to identify trends, process shifts, and improvement opportunities.
- Support SEM/EDX data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Develop automation, analytics, and AI-based solutions to improve engineering efficiency and knowledge management.
- Assist with Statistical Process Control system development, monitoring, and reporting.
- Partner with sustaining engineers to investigate manufacturing issues and support root cause analysis.
- Document technical findings and share recommendations with cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to projects that improve quality, cycle time, and operational excellence.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or Physics, Material Science, or Data Science.
- Graduation date no earlier than September 2027.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and collaborate in a team environment.
- Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, automation, data science, and artificial intelligence.
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, machine learning, or developing dashboards and data pipelines is helpful.
- Previous cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing experience is preferred.
