About the role#
This is a full-time, six-month internship running from January 5, 2027, to June 30, 2027. You will join the Valves Group to work alongside experienced engineers on the development of vacuum valve products. This position offers exposure to different business divisions and includes project assignments focused on solving real customer problems.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic hardware for vacuum valve control.
- Assist with the design, debugging, and board bring-up of real-time embedded electronics.
- Build microprocessor-based control and communication hardware using simulation, analysis, prototyping, and testing.
- Participate in project activities such as DFMEA, design reviews, and the creation of technical specifications.
- Perform failure analysis for customers and develop corrective action plans for design issues.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve quality issues with components.
- Evaluate designs based on performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
- Communicate technical information clearly in both written and oral formats.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with equipment used for embedded systems development, including oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- A hands-on approach to problem solving and a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
