    About the role#

    This internship provides an opportunity to experience our work environment while focusing on automation projects in the processing mezzanine area. You will analyze current workflows, equipment performance, labor utilization, and material movement. Your work will involve identifying ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual handling. You will collaborate with leaders in Processing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to assess processes and support feasibility evaluations for future initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate opportunities to expand or enhance automation within the processing mezzanine.
    • Analyze operational data to identify process optimization opportunities.
    • Develop recommendations for automation initiatives based on your findings.
    • Present data-driven results and improvement suggestions to leadership.
    • Complete a project assigned by your department mentor.
    • Attend a weekly seminar series held across different facilities.
    • Participate in a mid-way evaluation at week 5 and a final evaluation at week 10.
    • Deliver a 10-minute presentation on your project at the end of the summer.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university.
    • Majors in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Selbyville, Delaware.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
    • Modality: This is an on-site position.
    • Final Presentations: You must be available to travel to Millsboro, Delaware, for final presentations during the week of August 2-6, 2027.
