    About the role#

    This internship provides exposure to procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives within the food and beverage manufacturing sector. You will work alongside the Procurement, Packaging, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support cost optimization and supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for completing a specific project assigned by your mentor and attending weekly seminar series at various facilities.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze packaging materials, supplier data, and procurement trends to find cost savings and improvement opportunities.
    • Evaluate sustainable packaging initiatives, including regulatory considerations and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) impacts.
    • Build data-driven forecasts and reports to assist in procurement planning.
    • Assess the performance of suppliers, materials, or processes to improve operational efficiency.
    • Present your findings and recommendations to Procurement leadership at the end of the summer.
    • Complete a mid-way evaluation during week 5 and a final evaluation at the end of the program.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in Millsboro, Delaware.
    • The internship takes place during the Summer 2027 term.
    • The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 or 8:00 am to 4:30 or 5:00 pm.
    • You must be available to travel to Millsboro, Delaware, for final presentations during the week of August 2 to August 6, 2027.
