About the role#
This co-op position supports the Senior Global Commodity Manager for Semiconductors at Nexteer Automotive. You will gain hands-on experience in a technical environment by assisting with supply chain management activities. The role focuses on bridging classroom learning with professional procurement tasks.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and analyze global data to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Manage RFI and RFQ events by gathering quotes and creating clear comparison summaries.
- Prepare and organize negotiation and contract documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams on cost reduction and process improvement projects.
- Support supplier performance reviews, including QBR preparation and follow-up tasks.
- Monitor market trends and assist with forecasting for strategic planning.
- Identify ways to optimize manual workflows and reporting tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Supply Chain Management, Operations Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Ability to work on-site in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
