    About the role#

    Powerex is hiring a Trade Floor Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time position is based on-site in Vancouver. The program supports various teams across the company, providing exposure to the energy business. Interns may be considered for future terms or a permanent Rotational Analyst role after graduation.

    What you'll do#

    • Source and assess deals.
    • Manage risk through financial analysis, research, and modeling.
    • Support market policy and compliance efforts.
    • Manage portfolios by updating financial models and assisting management teams.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a university degree program such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
    • Currently in your second or third year of studies.
    • High analytical aptitude and a logical, critical thinking approach.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to multi-task and work in high-pressure environments.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Self-awareness, humility, and intellectual curiosity.
    • Resilience, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Completion of AP-level courses in Calculus, Physics, Statistics, or Economics is preferred.

    • Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $58,000 annualized for second-year students and $72,000 annualized for third-year returning students.
    • Benefits: Includes 3 weeks of paid vacation and a defined benefit pension plan.
