About the role#
Powerex is hiring a Trade Floor Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time position is based on-site in Vancouver. The program supports various teams across the company, providing exposure to the energy business. Interns may be considered for future terms or a permanent Rotational Analyst role after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Source and assess deals.
- Manage risk through financial analysis, research, and modeling.
- Support market policy and compliance efforts.
- Manage portfolios by updating financial models and assisting management teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university degree program such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
- Currently in your second or third year of studies.
- High analytical aptitude and a logical, critical thinking approach.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task and work in high-pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-awareness, humility, and intellectual curiosity.
- Resilience, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Completion of AP-level courses in Calculus, Physics, Statistics, or Economics is preferred.

- Compensation: $58,000 annualized for second-year students and $72,000 annualized for third-year returning students.
