About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in Richardson, Texas, for the Summer 2027 term. This position requires U.S. citizenship, as you must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. You will work on-site at our facility.
What you'll do#
- Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Produce models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies alongside engineers and designers.
- Execute tests for systems and components under technical oversight.
- Analyze test results to ensure they meet design specifications and objectives.
- Communicate your findings and progress within a cross-functional team.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and will remain enrolled through the end of the internship.
- You have at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the session.
- You possess relevant experience gained through coursework, research, projects, or previous jobs.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX is preferred.
- Experience with simulation tools like ANSYS, Flow Therm, or Flow Simulation is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with RTX internships or co-ops is valued.
