About the role#
Raytheon is hiring Software Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This program is part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program and offers students the opportunity to contribute to satellite ground systems while working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and development teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop software for satellite ground systems.
- Work within an Agile software development team to create production software.
- Research and implement advanced software technologies.
- Develop software algorithms and implement AI/ML processing tools.
- Model complex satellite systems and simulate them to understand mission performance.
- Perform system trade studies and work to improve software efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an applicable discipline.
- Actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship.
- Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.
- Solid knowledge of data structures.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance.

- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Aurora, Colorado.
- This role is paid.
