About the role#
As a Financial Advisor Intern, you will work with personal and small business clients to nurture relationships and support their financial goals. You will provide professional advice on credit and investment needs while collaborating with internal experts to deliver tailored solutions. This role focuses on helping clients navigate key life events and managing their banking needs through both digital and in-person interactions.
What you'll do#
- Talk with clients to understand their needs and help them reach their goals.
- Provide advice on complex credit and investment matters for individuals and businesses.
- Work with experts in financial planning, retirement, mortgages, and business banking to ensure clients get targeted guidance.
- Use technology to improve the client experience and support sales and retention.
- Take ownership of resolving client banking issues.
- Carry out strategies to build relationships and acquire new clients in the local community.
- Teach clients about the features of banking products and how to use mobile, ATM, and online services.
What you'll need#
- Valid Mutual Funds accreditation, such as the Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course.
- A completed Certificate in Financial Services Advice from the CSI.
- Two to three years of sales experience in the financial services industry, specifically with credit and investments.
- Ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Digital literacy across various devices including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
