About the role#
This internship provides exposure to the Internal Audit division at Regions Bank. You will work alongside experienced auditors to support the risk-based audit program. The role focuses on helping the bank manage risks and meet business objectives. This is a full-time, paid summer position for 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform internal audit fieldwork under the supervision of experienced staff.
- Create workpapers that meet audit evidence requirements.
- Assist in the execution of risk-based audit programs, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Interact with middle and senior management across various bank business units.
- Provide recommendations to help maintain an audit-ready environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Computer Science.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in developing technical skills and gaining professional experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (sponsorship is not provided).

- This position is based on-site in Birmingham, Alabama, or Hoover, Alabama.
- The internship term is Summer 2027.
