About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern at S&B, you will work on defined assignments using established design techniques and procedures. You will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and specialists, collaborating within a multi-discipline team to deliver project goals. This role requires daily face-to-face interaction and regular meetings with your team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with routine engineering assignments.
- Visit existing plants to collect operating data and equipment information.
- Gather data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry documents, and purchase requisitions.
- Review and evaluate vendor bids and drawings for compliance.
- Help prepare equipment, piping, and specialty item lists.
- Contribute to the development of design guides, specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-ups.
- Provide technical guidance to design personnel when needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Capability to work with mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.

- Physical Requirements: You may occasionally visit operating plants or construction sites. This requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 25 pounds. You may be exposed to outdoor weather, noise, and industrial environments during these site visits.
