About the role#
This is a PRN Clinical Pharmacist-Intern position based in Peridot, Arizona. You will work under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. This role involves participating in daily pharmacy operations and supporting patient care through medication management and direct clinical interaction.
What you'll do#
- Counsel, compound, prepare, verify, and dispense medications while following federal and state regulations.
- Conduct prospective patient profile and chart reviews to assess drug interactions, contraindications, and therapy effectiveness.
- Perform medication reconciliation and provide counseling to patients.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile products while ensuring proper storage and stability.
- Administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications.
- Manage medication records and inventories for both control and non-control substances.
- Assist with unit dose distribution, attend clinical rounds, and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations to providers and nursing staff.
- Maintain automated dispensing machines and perform medication room inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program or graduation from an accredited US PharmD program within the last year.
- A current, active, and unrestricted Arizona Pharmacist Intern license.
- Licensure to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
