About the role#
This is a paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Velocity program, which provides a customized experience focused on professional development and technical growth. You will work within the banking sector to support cloud platforms and services.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maintenance of cloud platforms, services, and components.
- Assist in implementing and refactoring code.
- Ensure software and applications meet requirements for security, integrity, reliability, and compliance.
- Work with engineers and architects to estimate, scope, and break down tasks.
- Collaborate with application teams to support their onboarding onto the cloud platform.
- Participate in team ceremonies like stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
- Learn how to build and operate scalable, highly available infrastructure.
- Contribute to a customer-focused culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related post-secondary program.
- Foundational understanding of infrastructure or cloud concepts.
- Exposure to scripting or programming through academic projects or coursework.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn enterprise cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Experience with development or scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Shell.
- Understanding of container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, database technologies, and Unix/Linux administration.
