About the role#
This is a 12 to 16-month internship within the Velocity program at Scotiabank. You will join the Capital Markets technology team in Toronto for the Winter 2027 term. This role offers a blend of engineering and financial systems work, allowing you to contribute to scalable infrastructure while learning from technical leaders. You will also participate in the Innovation Pod experience, where you will collaborate with a small team to build and prototype new products.
What you'll do#
- Partner with development and operations teams to deliver software products efficiently.
- Automate workflows and track application performance metrics.
- Deploy code frequently and maintain infrastructure to ensure it remains secure, scalable, and reliable.
- Work with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Design and prototype innovative solutions during the Innovation Pod experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of container tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Clear communication skills and a curious, self-starting mindset.
