About the role#
Syska Hennessy Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineering intern for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Chicago to support our engineering teams on various projects. This is a paid, full-time internship designed to help you gain practical experience while working alongside our staff.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in preparing design documentation.
- Create AutoCAD and Revit drawings of electrical systems.
- Help with design calculations and the sizing of building electrical systems.
- Participate in field investigations and construction site visits to observe project progress.
- Attend the intern education program lunch-and-learn sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.
- You must be at least in your second year of studies.
- Basic knowledge of design and calculation software and the MS Office Suite is required.
- Experience with a previous engineering internship or co-op is a plus.
- Proficiency in the latest versions of MEP AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.

- Compensation: $23 to $26 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
