About the role#
This internship with the AES Indiana Substation Engineering team offers hands-on experience in substation design and system protection. You will work alongside staff engineers to support the design of facilities and relay protection for transmission and distribution systems. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff engineers with ongoing substation projects.
- Facilitate engineering analysis and design work for system protection and substation infrastructure.
- Complete project work intended to provide practical engineering experience.
- Handle additional assignments as directed by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technology fields.
- Sophomore status or higher is preferred.
- A strong academic background.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Solid organization and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
