About the role#
As a Special Education Teacher Intern at The Menta Education Group, you will manage a small classroom of around 10 students in a self-contained setting. This role involves using a P.B.I.S. structure to create an inquiry-based academic environment. You will receive professional development and on-campus support from administrators, clinical staff, and other teachers. You must be willing to return to a university to obtain a tuition-reimbursed degree in Special Education to earn your license.
What you'll do#
- Teach all subjects in a classroom setting.
- Engage with special education curriculum to support diverse learners.
- Provide a differentiated and social-emotional learning environment.
- Work with staff to personalize learning and achieve positive student results.
- Use paraprofessional support to manage classroom activities.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Psychology, Sociology, Health Administration, or Human Resources.
- A valid General Education Teaching Certificate is accepted if you are willing to pursue Special Education certification.
- Experience working with students who have special education disabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask.
- A positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Southwest Academy, Phoenix, AZ.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Term: Rolling, following a 10-month school calendar.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
