About the role#
This internship supports Technology and SCADA operations at the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority. You will work on real-world projects in a critical infrastructure environment, gaining experience in IT support, industrial automation, and network monitoring. This role is open to students currently enrolled in a High Desert Charter School.
What you'll do#
- Provide help desk support by logging tickets and troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Make basic updates to SCADA Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens and collect feedback from operators.
- Collect and clean operational data for performance analysis.
- Monitor network dashboards and assist in mapping industrial networks.
- Create digital campaigns to promote cybersecurity awareness.
- Organize IT equipment and maintain asset inventory.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Ability to obtain a work permit.
- Strong digital literacy and attention to detail.
- Interest in cybersecurity, networking, or automation systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Cybersecurity pathway is preferred.

- Location: Victorville, California.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 21 to November 13).
- Schedule: 100 hours total, 2 days per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid internship.
