About the role#
As a Cyber Compliance Intern, you will join the Cyber Risk and Data Protection Consulting practice. You will work alongside security and privacy staff to assist clients in managing and monitoring systems to address information security needs. This role involves performing consulting services for a diverse client base across various industries.
What you'll do#
- Conduct assessments to identify risks within cyber security governance compliance programs.
- Determine the technical and business impact of identified security issues.
- Provide remediation guidance to clients.
- Work with cyber security and privacy frameworks such as ISO, NIST, and CIS.
- Measure and report client compliance with industry or government requirements.
- Contribute to the development of security governance and compliance programs.
- Support the implementation of tools used to manage security programs.
- Develop metrics and reporting for security programs.
- Support presentations to executive management and Boards of Directors.
- Develop target operating models for cyber security programs.
- Collaborate with RSM consulting professionals.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or a similar field.
- Technical background in computer science and related fields.
- Working knowledge of business process flows.
- Ability to interpret and convey technical information through written and oral communication.
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong internal drive and motivation for continuous improvement.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of tools.
- Practical experience with IT infrastructure components and security tools.
- Experience with operating system configuration and security.
- Basic understanding of secure network architecture design.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Employment: Full time, on-site.
- Compensation: Paid position at $33 to $39 per hour.
