About the role#
Ascensus is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to join the Legal, Risk and Compliance team as a Co-Op. This position provides hands-on experience in financial services compliance and risk management. You will work on operational, analytical, and documentation tasks that help the company meet regulatory and internal policy requirements. This role offers exposure to multiple career paths and professional mentorship within a regulated financial services environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of the Know Your Client (KYC) Compliance Program, including customer due diligence and periodic reviews.
- Review and validate client documentation for completeness and adherence to policies.
- Maintain records for KYC reviews, risk assessments, and compliance evidence.
- Perform data analysis, reporting, and tracking of KYC metrics and remediation activities.
- Assist with updates to compliance procedures, job aids, and internal documentation.
- Research regulatory requirements, industry practices, and emerging compliance topics.
- Support broader initiatives such as control testing, audits, and special projects.
- Collaborate with the Legal, Risk and Compliance team and cross-functional partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for business, finance, risk management, legal studies, compliance, or related fields.
- A detail-oriented mindset.
- Preference is given to students graduating in 2027.
